Amphenol Update

Updating a couple of earlier stories.

It looks like the sale of the Amphenol PCB (the former Teradyne Connection Systems) shop is off. Also, insiders at the division tell us there was a layoff last Friday, with some 65 employees getting pink slips.

Meanwhile, Simclar Inc., the Scottish contract manufacturer, has finalized its acquisition Litton Interconnect Technologies’ backplane business. The division will now be called Simclar Interconnect Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Simclar Inc.
Simclar paid $16 million for the in Springfield, MO, plant.
