SMART Thoughts

The latest SMART Group newsletter is out and can be downloaded here.

As background, the SMART Group is a Europe-based forum for electronics assembly engineers. Now 25 years young, the SMART Group is similar in scope to organizations like the SMTA that are focused on training and research collaboration and sharing. It’s a great example of how good work can be performed without a big budget.

In the past couple years, the SMART Group has launched an email forum called smart-e-link, which I would highly recommend. Those familiar with IPC’s TechNet email forum — also known as a listserv, but I can’t say listserv, because the listserv police will come after me — will recognize the format, essentially a technical helpline, but it’s nice to see so many different contributors on the other side of the pond.
